Yuyu People Interview

Business Development Team

David Hu

Good grades will be recognized

lease tell us about yourself.

Hello, this is David from the Business Development Team. I was a Cantonese from Guangdong province in China. I studied in a university in the United States, and now I am working at Yuyu Pharma.

Why did you choose Yuyu Pharma?

I've always been interested in the development of new drugs. Yuyu Pharma's active global activities are the reason why I chose this company. Yuyu Pharma is a Korean company, but it has been actively interacting with research institutes and its partners in the US, Europe and Japan. As I'm working at Yuyu Pharm, I've been seen the company grow with co-workers and partners in various environments, from the new drug development process to product launch.

What had you prepared to join Yuyu Pharma?

I participated in a project as an intern and worked hard. During my college years in the United States, fortunately, I had a chance to show off the project I had undertaken to the President and CEO Robert Wonsang Yu. If I say the message I want to give in one word, it is that "An opportunity comes to those who are ready." If you always sharpen your skills, you will be able to develop a relationship that may not last into a good opportunity, just like me. Furthermore, in addition to my day-to-day work, I am always trying to study and improve in terms of research and business.

Please tell us about difficulties and good things as a foreign worker.

The first great thing is that you can have a wide range of experiences in your field of interest. As a member of the business development team, I have experienced various businesses while working here. I am very proud of being able to contribute to laying the foundation for Yuyu Pharma's international activities and grow at the same time. The second advantage is the open atmosphere. Yuyu Pharma has an atmosphere that respects diversity with an open mind. With the horizontal structure and the positive atmosphere, everyone is considerate. Such work environment provide opportunities to employees to fully demonstrate their capabilities. Perhaps the biggest drawback is the cultural differences you feel inside and outside the company. It takes time to get used to working and living in another country, but it's not easy to overcome cultural differences while focusing on working life.

What advice would you give international students who are preparing to join Yuyu Pharma?

I think the most important thing to remember is to be prepared to anticipate the unexpected. Everyday is a learning process. You will be working on a series of creative project, constantly communicating with people around the world, and learning new knowledge. There are many cultural differences, but you have to be flexible and work hard.
